Why your effective rate is not the rate you were sold

The rate in the advertisement is an average calculated at one usage level, usually 1,000 or 2,000 kWh a month. Your bill is calculated at your usage, on a plan whose fees, credits and free‑hour windows all behave differently as usage moves. Divide what you paid by what you used and you get the only figure that is true for you.

Not yet. Reading a bill automatically means running it through a language model, which needs an API key attached to this site and a retention policy to go with it. Until both exist, the manual route gets you the same answer and your bill never leaves your computer.
